Healthy Vending Policy

D.C. Action for Healthy Kids, concerned with growing overweight and childhood obesity, successfully lobbied the D.C. school board to pass a Healthy Vending Policy. The measure limits unhealthy beverages and snacks in vending machines in D.C. Public Schools. The policy took effect as a pilot program in February 2005.
